This is deprecated information, we are not recruiting at this point in time.

Current Demand

High Demand

Medium Demand

Low Demand

All classes are still encouraged to apply. However, only exceptional applications from an unlisted class will have any chance of immediate recruitment. In most cases these applications will be placed on file, for future potential class openings.

Joining Eternal Reign
Mission Statement
Our US and world ranking is good, but it isn't our selling point. Our main selling point by far is our outstanding raiding efficiency. During progression, we limit our raiding to ~19 hours a week. In this small amount of hours (half of many guilds above and below us in rankings) we have managed to keep ourselves as a top tier guild for quite some time now. We killed Yogg-Saron on the first reset of 3.1, achieved a top 25 US Sunwell clear, killed C'Thun the same week everyone else did, and so on.

This efficiency alone we feel is a big selling point, and it’s something we take pride in. But I also stress that efficiency because of the domino effect it has. As a result of being such an efficient guild, we tend to have a low turnover rate. All of our current officers have been with the guild since before TBC. Our low raid hours allow people to have lives outside the game and still satisfy their competitive drive. Our guild has a very good atmosphere that we feel also stems from our raid efficiency. We are very low on drama, and we have an excellent reputation on our server.

Is ER right for you?
First and foremost, we are a PvE raiding guild. If raiding for ~20 hours a week does not seem appealing to you, this is not the guild for you. Second, you must be willing to put in the work it takes to learn encounters when they are cutting edge. You must be willing to spend the appropriate amount of time outside of raiding to farm for consumables, repair costs, alternate gear/resist sets, etc. Learning encounters can take a long time, so if you quit easily and/or are only in it for the loot, this is not the guild for you.

At the same time, we have a definite contingent of players who enjoy PvP. Our guild is consistently ranked as one of the top PvP guilds on the Whirlwind battlegroup, and we have had teams finish #1 in multiple brackets since S1. While enjoying PvP is not mandatory, having a great deal of advanced PvP experience is a big plus.

Guild Information
Guild Application and What It Means
Previously, there has been some confusion regarding what it means to have an application on file with the guild. It's not a line to get into the guild; it's a pool of people who are interested in joining. On average, we now recruit 1 player every 3-4 weeks, so don't be surprised or offended if you never are accepted into the guild or never hear from us again. Also, the argument "I've been trying to get into the guild for months!" has no weight when considering applications. When we need to recruit we look for the most talented player(s) we can find, yes that means we will even go out and look around despite having solid applicants available on file.

Raid Schedule
ER raids are generally scheduled to start at 6pm PST on weeknights, and at 2pm PST on Saturday and Sunday. Duration of the raid depends on the target, though we have members in all time zones, so we try to wrap up raids by Midnight or so Eastern time. We take a minimum of 2 days off a week (usually these will T/Th). All raids worth DKP are posted a minimum of 24 hours in advance.

During progression, our M/W/F raids have typically been 6-9, Sat/Sun have been 2-7, and we've taken T/Th off. We rarely extend our raid schedule past 5 days a week, but instead do unofficial 5-mans/Heroics/10-mans/alt-runs/PvP or what not.

During farm, we typically try to finish up everything on Wednesday night within 3 hours or so.

Our philosophy is that we don't raid as much as other top-tier guilds, so we need to make the most out of the time we do raid. So while our raid schedule is not as lengthy as other guilds, by no means is it lax. We expect people to show up ready, focused, and playing a team game. Even when the content is in farm mode; while we may loosen up a little in vent, we expect people to perform at a high level.

DKP System
We use a DKP system for loot distribution. If you are adverse to such a system, do not apply. For those who don't know, a DKP system in essence is a way to ensure that the effort placed into raiding with the guild is proportional to the amount and quality of items you get. That's not to say that more casual players are not rewarded for raiding, but generally they do not have "first pick" on the latest and greatest items. If you're curious as to what type of system we use, it's more or less a zero-sum fixed-price DKP system (we hate bidding systems). Our system has been used and tweaked over the course of several years, so don't expect to be able to come in and get dramatic changes done.

We also have what we call a secondary system. While I won't go into detail here, basically this allows people to pick up items that don't fit their primary raid role at a reduced price (though they will not have first priority on such items). This ensures that loot typically goes into the right hands first for the betterment of the guild, while also giving incentive for people to buy loot for multiple roles/specs, which is also good for the guild (having people well geared for multiple roles/specs gives us a lot of flexibility).

Recruiting Requirements
You must satisfy all the following requirements before your application will even be considered. If you do not fulfill them, your app will be deleted, and you will have to reapply once you meet the requirements.

Your character should be a maximum level alliance character on Lightbringer, or able to transfer to Lightbringer. There is the smallest of chances that we would accept a recruit who does not meet this qualification (rerolls), but under such circumstances the player had better be exceedingly talented and have some means to prove it (WWS, Fraps, reputation, salesmanship). In the case of salesmanship, there is no reason to even consider deception as a means of entry into Eternal Reign. If you sell yourself as a superstar talent and we find that you are not talented, you will have simply wasted your time and will have to find another guild.

Previous WoW raiding experience is REQUIRED. Experience with old content isn't bad, but recent content is much more preferable. We understand though that many talented players can come from guilds that are not very progressed, and we try to keep an open mind when looking at applicants coming from such guilds.

You may be required to spec your talents a certain way to join. This will usually be specified on the guild openings listing, though sometimes you might subsequently be asked to spec a certain way.

You should be able to make 90%+ of our raids (the higher percent, the better). More realistically we are looking for people in the 95% range. We don't have a strict attendance requirement, as we understand that even the most hardcore raiders have other obligations which come up from time to time. However, at this time the only players we are considering are those who can make the vast majority of our raids.

You must show effort in working on your gear. We aren't expecting perfect gear from every applicant, but putting in a serious effort based on your progression level, and properly enchanting/gemming your gear, will certainly reflect well on your app. Having a decent set of stamina gear is a plus. Good resist sets (based on current content and item availability) is also good. Rerolls would not be expected to meet any gear requirements.

Your application must be approved by the officers before it can move onto the subsequent steps. Annoying the officers by sending them too many tells, or any tells during raids, is a good way to get your application permanently denied. Typically applications will stay up for a few days at which point we will get back to you.

Don't apply right before a vacation or if you plan on quitting the game soon. If you are vacationing, please wait until you come back to apply. This is because part of the evaluation of your trial membership period will be how many raids you attend. Also, we are recruiting players for the "long haul" -- meaning into the expansions and beyond. If you know you're quitting in the next month or two, don't apply.

There is no minimum age requirement, but maturity is a must. If you are easily offended, then you probably don't want to join as guild chat or vent can get a little mature-rated sometimes.

Ventrilo use is required for raids. You must also have a mic, not be shy about using it when needed, and be able to use it without missing a beat on your assignments.

You must have a computer and internet connection which can handle a full raid of people next to each other without lagging a lot. There are several fights now where someone lagging for a couple seconds can spell certain doom for the raid.

Recruiting Procedure
The recruitment procedure is as follows:
  1. Register for the ER forums. Make sure you register with an email account you check, so you get notifications when someone PMs you. This is so the officers can contact you.
  2. Post the listed application on this forum in the format listed below.
  3. The officers will read and review your application. If it is not filled out completely, it will be deleted.
  4. If it was filled out correctly, and we have need/interest in you, we will attempt to make contact with you and arrange a meeting in vent. Please note that even if you do not hear from us, we archive all applications that are complete.
  5. If the meeting in vent goes well, we may invite you to join our guild. In that case, we will move your application internally and let our members know to expect you.
  6. Trial member status lasts for a period of 2 months. During this time rules will be strictly enforced. Furthermore, while we do not require attendance, trial members are expected to make a good portion of the raids. Failure to do so without good excuse will likely result in your removal from the guild.
  7. Once the trial period ends, your membership will be evaluated by the officers, and if approved, you will be promoted to full member.

Guild Affiliations while Applying
It is okay to apply to ER while you are currently in another guild. If you would like to apply privately you may PM your application to both Baron and Wakefield. Furthermore, if you are unguilded and wish to join another guild, but keep your application in our internal archive, you are welcome to.

We do ask, however, that you do a little bit of research on guilds and figure out which one fits you best before applying. If we are on a long list of random guilds you intend to apply to, we would rather you not apply here.

Guild Application

Please Use the Following Template for your Application:

Name:
Class:
Server:
Level: (if you have no characters at max level don't bother applying)

R/L State/Country:
Age:
Gender:
Occupation (if applicable):

Please list other max level characters you have and specify what server they are on:

Who do you know in the guild, and how?

What other serious guilds in WoW have you been a part of? What server were they on, and why did you leave/want to leave?

What raiding experience do you have in classic WoW?

What raiding experience do you have in TBC?

Are you capable of participating in competitive arena and enjoying it? Note: this isn't a requirement.

What is the highest rating you have attained in each bracket of rated arenas?

Approximately how often do you expect to be able to raid on a weekly basis (typically M/W/F 6-9pm PST and Sat/Sun 2-7+pm PST)? Are there any days you absolutely will not be able to make? How long past those raid times could you stay, if needed?

What attendance level did you maintain in your most recent guild, over the course of how long?

Please include a link to either a current armory profile, or list out your primary gear set here. Also please give us a general idea of how good your off-spec gear is. (In general we are looking for people with good gear, though exceptions can occur on occasion):

Do you have Ventrilo installed with a microphone?

Do you have skill in playing more twitch-oriented games (FPS, RTS, etc)?

Do you turn with your keyboard, or your mouse?

Are you willing to put the time in to farm money for repair costs and consumables, whatever it takes to get the job done?

Do you have a computer which can support 25 people next to each other at the same time?

Do you have a broadband internet connection?

Is your broadband internet connection stable?

What is your latency on Lightbringer?

Please provide us with a screen shot of your current interface as it would look during a raid:

If you are applying for a DPS role, please provide a link to a WWS, World of Logs, or the like demonstrating your performance on multiple fights. (Note, this is not a requirement, but an impressive parse can greatly help your chances):

Please list ALL of your key bindings for spells, abilities, macros, potions, etc. Be specific, this is extremely important. If you use 1 to 0 and click everything else, specify that here. If you click everything, specify that here. If you bind things to your mouse or use some kind of addon to help with your abilities, specify that here. If you give us the short version here and do not describe in detail how you use your abilities we will not even respond to your application, it will just be deleted:

ALL INCOMPLETE/INCORRECT APPLICATIONS WILL BE DELETED

Thanks, and good luck!
